The Dash Between

Can't say that after the release of End Song - July 11th, 2023 - that I would've put in the work to produce another two albums containing 32 new songs. It continues to be a labour of love as it always has been est. 1972. The Dash Between had a very emotional start to its write, with the passing of good friend and long time same old face - Eric Green. Eric included our relationship in his self-authored eulogy that included a profound and impactful message that stated; "no one will be remembered for the two dates on their headstone, the start and finish, rather, they will be remembered for their life lived in the - between. That brought me to tears. I wrote a song, recorded it on my iPhone in skeletal form, put it on my YouTube, and it was played at the spreading of his ashes ceremony at sea. I was honoured to have been a part of his celebration of, the living of life in the dash between.
YouTube

Happy to report my website is up to date and now has accessibility to my YouTube Channel that boasts 95 videos. Today I linked my new album A Walk to A Run and 15 accompanying videos, after uploading all 15 videos yesterday. Nice response thus far without any promotion to speak of.
I spent more time on this video package than any before and I have to admit that the video support for the album's songs effectively serves to enhance the viewers listen of the song. I'm a very very happy creator at all levels of 'this thing I do'.

A Walk to A Run

With End Song promoted as my last album, let's call A Walk to A Run; one more last album… 15 new songs accompanied by 15 YouTube videos. I plan on releasing this project on YouTube in the Spring of 2024. I may give the audio one more shot at online sales. I'll see about that… This production has resulted in another level of arrangement and performance, with much more emphasis on guitar than in previous productions. I'm very very proud of this product.
End Song

The last five years of my life, including the Covid era, have been the best years of my life, especially at the creative level. In five years, I wrote, performed and produced five albums that contained 72 new songs and 1 - We Are All Poets - from 1977. I now have 79 original song videos on YouTube that I am over the moon with. I had a really nice visit with Nik and Lisa at the end of July in Saint Sauveur, Quebec. I hadn't seen either of them in 30 years and it was like it was just last week. My last gig in February for the Caledonia SOF was awesome and if it's my final live performance, I'm okay with that. My book gained SOLD OUT status in February and I couldn't be more pleased with the reader reviews that it received. I'm contemplating publishing digitally. End Song is now completely registered, there are only ten owners who qualified to own this product and 9 out of 10 are in receipt of. It's the most introspective album I have ever written. As always the 17 songs on there all have their own identity and once again, I couldn't be more pleased with the results. So so content. C'ya down "the road" perhaps…
First Folkie Fifty

Had a text chat with Eric Green, who wrote the wonderful foreward to my Memoirs, regarding the First Folkie Fifty album - 1972/1982 - that originally inspired me to write Still Livin' the Dream - a life of song & stage - 1972/2022. He noted the song I Need You and gave me his interpretation of the lyrics. This motivated me to go back in and listen to the song. This song is 45 years old. I was just in the embryonic state of my professional songwriting career. I listened and sure enough, Eric's interpretation was astute. In hindsight, I realized that I was already writing in a prophetic sort of manner (not knowingly), a kind of "writing on the wall", in what would come to pass in May 1994. I admire Eric's focus on lyrics. For me, as I note in my book, there are several elements to songwriting and production, the most important for me, always has, is now, and will always be, the lyrics.
