still livin' the dream...

Highschool reunion in Hammertown leads to...

Received an unexpected email from someone that I hadn't talked to nor heard from in 30 years. The email came in a few days after a casual high school reunion in The Hammer set up by childhood friend Jim Stevenson. The email I received was from my second (the first being Ed Roth/Daniel Lanois) and final Producer whom I worked with for 8 years, 1985 through 1993, producing 3 records, '57 Chevys, Studio/Live and I'm Still the Same - Nik Keca, whose studio in Quebec recorded all the vocals for The Woman in Me in 1993 (my book Still Livin' the Dream explains in detail that story/transition…). That email led to a phone call a few minutes later and a conversational update that paled anything in my past of the same circumstance. It was wonderful to trace back and bring it all forward to today as it came on the heels of my recent double album release (1) Looking Forward… (2) To Looking Back. Oh, Nik received my email and screenshot of the iconic '57 Chevys LP artwork from his ex-lawyer of the 80s in Stoney Creek, now retired, and ex-Glendale High acquaintance, Henry Szpiech, who attended the reunion at The End Zone in Hamilton.

Jim is planning another get-together later this year, I'm in, who knows, I might get an email from Daniel Lanois whom I haven't talked to in 45 years…

Live laugh and love folks!
